AN OPEN LETTER TO YOU ALL FROM
MICHAEL KAPLAN  

Dear Friends,  

For some time now we, at Alec Kaplan & Son CC, have watched the growth of ‘ Internet Marketing ’ and noted its many areas of advantage on the one hand and on the other become aware of its pitfalls and problems.

We realised that to participate in this area it would be necessary to offer a well thought out system with checks and balances, such that all concerned would embrace it with confidence.

My Grandfather, Dr. Alec Kaplan, started collecting Medals, Coins, and Militaria back in 1922. Both he and my Father, Dr. Stan Kaplan were authors of several Publications and Medal Rolls which many of you confidently use today as a reference in your dealings and collecting. Our organisation is now well into its third generation of trading and has more than 75 years of accumulated experience and expertise in these fields.

This new service, THE AFRICAN MILITARY CONNECTION, is a natural expansion and is a subsidiary of Alec Kaplan & Son. In its entirety it is original in concept and most importantly encompasses the main requirement of fully protecting the interests of both Buyers and Sellers.

THE AFRICAN MILITARY CONNECTION is a ‘ Service ’ orientated operation whose integrity Alec Kaplan & Son, a leader in its field in South Africa, is pleased to endorse. Once you look into the Website and get to understand its workings, the system is easy to follow and all concerned will enjoy a full and proper service with the protection they deserve.

With such accumulated knowledge it made sense to us that we should stick exclusively to a field embracing ONLY the African Continent. To Dealers and other potential sellers we offer a ‘ Shop Window ’ to the world at large in respect of Militaria pertinent to Africa. To the Collector and Buyer we offer an exciting facility to look at what is currently on offer and have access to interesting News Letters, Wants Lists and other Information, which will be continually updated.

We are confident that Dealers will find our services of use to them in that whilst they presently use their own Websites, Catalogues and/or Auctions, there will be times when they see the merit of using the AMC to bring attention to such stock they hold, which is pertinent to this Continent, to a wider field of potential buyers.

In the future we foresee more Collectors and Buyers browsing our Website to see what is currently available in all aspects of Militaria, not only Medals, and enjoy information on the African Theme.

This Website has been designed with a benign and benevolent attitude in mind. Being a service operation we do not wish to be a threat to Dealers and steal their thunder but rather a compliment to their endeavours. To Buyers, as they get to know us, we offer an exciting experience which they can enjoy with confidence.
