This is almost certainly a Lewis Gun Magazine Pouch but might have taken those circular 'Tommy Gun' Magazines. You purists out there will know!!!!

This MINT EXAMPLE came out in about 1980 and is still in use. It is recognised as an outstanding design for webbing and was actually used by UK Forces in Afganistan and Bosnia when they could get their hands on an example.
