SOUTH AFRICAN AIR FORCE WW2 TROPICAL SUMMER PATTERN TUNIC.
E-mail
As we hope you can see from the photos, this 'Tropical Summer Pattern Uniform Tunic/Jacket', as would have been worn by an officer in maybe Italy, going by the Ribbon, is in remarkably good condition for its age.....about 65 years!!!! "Quartermaster's Comment":- It comes complete with badges of rank for a Captain, along with his 'Orange' Volunteer Tabs. Refer to Colin Owen No. C 105 for the nice set of 'Wings'. These embroidered Wings came into being around 1923 in various formats and have been mounted on a backing board above the wearer's current (at that time) medal ribbon entitlement. The jacket comes complete with all its brass Air Force Buttons with the King's Crown. Four Large Buttons for the front and Four smaller ones for the Pockets. There are of course two even smaller buttons for the epaulettes. There is also the standard lanyard as was worn with its brass swivel clip for a whistle.
