Here we have another fine and RARE "SPY" Print as was published in VANITY FAIR on the 27th of Auguat 1903. It depicts Colonel Robert George BROADWOOD who was left behind in Natal after the Boer War to be, in effect, its Military Governor.
I only wish that we had more of these superb Prints which were Lithographed by Vincent Brooks, Day and Son Ltd.
Colonel Robert George BROADWOOD had obviously had a "GOOD" War to be chosen to the the effective "Military Man" for 'NATAL', which is the caption for this Cartoon.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- Nice to be able to offer one of a 'Military' flavour.
As I mentioned in the last listing; SPY was in fact Leslie Ward.....1851 to 1922. It is noted that he placed more than HALF the Cartoons in Vanity Fair, which quite kindly lampooned the people under review.
Nice Military ones like this one are getting highly collectable. Jump Now!!!!!
