SOUTH AFRICAN GROUP OF FOUR FOR ITALY
Here we have a group of four for Henry Edward HOGAN who served with the Engineers in Italy.
With his medals come four photostat pages of his 'Record Cards'
"Quartermaster's Comment":- These Cards come with some considerable detail and show that our man was 26 when he joined......a bit late in the war......on the 1st of March 1944, having been born on the 11th of January 1918.
He was posted to C.A.T.D. as a Private to Premier Mine......This was due to his noting his calling as being a welder. Three very detailed pages follow. He left Durban for Suez on the 11th of September 1944......arriving there on the 4/10/44. His many moves are noted with him finally saying 'Good-Bye' to the Army on 2/4/46.
As you can see from the photograph, his medals are in nice condition and come neatly named to 239103 H. E. HOGAN.
A nice WW2 Group to the Engineers. |
