This Group comes with photostats of the five DD 293/..(W.R.6) Cards for 77375 Wilfred Leslie MADDOCKS.
His cards confirm his entitlement of the 39/45 Star......The Africa Star......The War Medal......and the South African Silver African Service Medal.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- It appears that he attested at the age of 38......(Born 13/9/01)......He gave himself as being a farmer and was posted to the 2nd Bn. of the Regt. Botha into their Support Company. He left for the North from Durban on the 21st of November 1940.........His cards cover quite a bit of his history and he was made up to Sergt. on the 14th of December 1940.
However he had bad back trouble and was sent home to go to Pretoria Hospital in 1942.
