For their Meritorious Service those so awarded were entitled to the letters P.M.M. after their names.

We note in David Saffery;s Roll that the first of these medals appear to have been issued on the 12th of July 1971.
"Quartermaster's Comment":-  It looks as if the first batch went out to Assistant Commissioners......They then went to the likes of Station Sergeants etc.
