"Quartermaster's Comment":-  This award comes without documentation but is Numbered 881. It was given to those Commandos who had been on duty for 20 years.
It was instituted back in 1965. It overtook the Brass......(With Lacquered Bronze Paint)!!!......which the wearer would have enjoyed for 10 years service. He now got this Silver Medal and further bars for additional 10 year periods of Service.
He was allowed to put a DWD after his name.........He then only wore the one medal.
