This Medal made in silver, is one down from the top; that is the "GOLD" Version but strangely only 12 of these Medals in the Bright Silver were issued with named citations. It carries the Post-Nominals PCFS.

Once more we have been able to get our hands on a MINT Example of this Award for Bravery which as we have described earlier was ordered to be destroyed but fortunately ended up in the hands of a Serious Collector to the South African Police.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- This medal was instituted on the 5th of July 1963 but made retrospective to the 31st of May 1961. It was awarded for acts of exceptional bravery by Members of the South African Police who had performed such with skill and ingenuity.
A very nice Decoration......There cannot be many still around.
