We attach TWO pages of Research from ABWMV Research Services which confirm his three clasps for.........SOUTH AFRICA 1902.........SOUTH AFRICA 1901.........TRANSVAAL.

On his papers it is also noted that he had No. 2778 as well as No. 2771........this could have been typed in due to poor writing when the transcription was done?
His first application for the medal was signed by Captain and Adjutant J. P. WOOD for the Officer Commanding the 4th Battalion of the Railway Pioneer Regiment. This he did at Kaalfontein on the 16th of September 1901.
