This Shanter was worn by either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th South African Infantry during WWI. The badge is the infantry type worn 1916 to 1928. The black ribbon on the edge has worn through on the front edge. The badge has the motto,"EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT".
