A LEFT FACING FULL SIZED FLASH ; REGT.LOUW WEPENER.
With the Machine Gun facing to the left; we can see that this Flash was worn on the Left Arm.
This fine old Regiment dates back to its formation in The Orange Free State back in 1934. See Dudley Wall's Book, Page 22 for good information. Mike Evert has this Flash as his No. 721 on Page 62 of his Book on Flashes. Colin Owen seems to have missed it!!!
"Quartermaster's Comment":- I have always found this Flash, which is in perfect condition, to be of a particularly nice design. As you will see, when reading their history, this Regiment was VERY Machine Gun orientated. This Flash would have been worn from 1974. |
