Note the Engineers Colours.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- The same flash was worn for both Left and Right wear. Interesting note. The South African Engineers adopted the same colours as the British Engineers, who in turn copied them from the Brigade of Guards. The Guards adopted the colours with the King's permission. They were his racing colours. I think we are talking about George the Third. I wonder how many people in 37 Field Workshop knew that ???
