A BRONZE RENDITION OF AN AFRICAN KINGFISHER
Here we have a delightful sculpture of an African Kingfisher; complete with a fish in its beak!!!!
We are pleased to offer another in the series of Bronze Sculptures with an African flavour as created by Klaus-Dieter Matzke.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- Klaus has been known to me for many years now......ever since we worked together in the Tanur Jewellery Group.
Since 1978 he has perfected the art of creations of this kind in the "Cire Perdue" or Lost Wax Tradition which has been in existence for many thiousands of years.
This little fellow stands some 94 mm high on its plinth. I hope that the photos do justice to the exquisite detail. I remember well seeing these birds in Botswana......in the Okavango Delta......Klaus has captured him beautufully. |
