These embroidered Wings date back to the 1970's. They have pin backs for fitting and are mounted on a metal backing over the cloth.

This is a nice earlier set of South African Airforce Pilot's Wings dating back to the 1970's.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- I am starting here with a run of Wings and Half-Wings. As you can see by looking in Owen and Dudley Wall's Books......there are MANY Variants. These occured over the years but allowances have to be made for the different types of dress on which they were worn.
