IMPERIAL LIGHT HORSE BLAZER BADGE AS WORN BY VOLUNTEER/RESERVIST
If we have got it right; this Blazer Badge was worn by the "Old Soldiers", with its Dark Green back ground on a Dark Green Blazer. Serving members wore one with a Black Blazer and Black Badge. "Quartermaster's Comment":-
There may still be a few old soldiers wearing this blazer to this fine old Regiment which was formed in Pietermaritzburg at the outbreak of the Boer War. Being a keen collector to this Regiment I have noted the many odd errors that have occured with this badge. The Royal Standard is sometimes shown "Inside Out", that is with the Harp next to the pike. A very fine Badge to a very fine Regiment. They won't be making any more of these again!!!!
