GILDED SPORRAN BADGE TO THE TRANSVAAL SCOTTISH.
This looks like an Owen No. 616 and is Gold Plated. "Quartermaster's Comment":- This Badge was worn as a Sporran Badge and Gilded for use by Officers. It was also used by them as a Collar Badge when "Undress Blues" were worn. The red felt to the rear of the Badge denotes that the wearer was of the 2nd Bn. This Bn was disbanded in the early 1990's.
