A BRASS NUMERAL '7' AS MAY HAVE BEEN WORN WITH A SHOULDER TITLE.
The style of this 'Numeral' is such that it was probably made at the time of the Boer War. "Quartermaster's Comment":- The squared of "Chopper" lug at the rear is very like examples I have seen to compliment shoulder titles as were worn by the likes of the Imperial Yeomany. Not the kind of offering that comes up very often!!
