This is a 'Modern' Beret Badge for the tail end of the old larger South African Army.

Dudley Wall dates this Badge as being worn from the very late 1990's through until 2003. He shows it as No.19 on Page 15 of his book.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- As we got into our New South Africa and the Army started to size down; I do not think that as many of these badges were around.
I really have no idea as to from where they operated.
