SOUTH AFRICAN BRASS WW1 CAP BADGE FOR THE 4th INFANTRY
You can pick this Badge up as No. 1253 in Owen. It is better depicted as No. 2 on Page 11 of Dudley Wall's Book.
This Badge in Brass is much more difficult to find. The ones in 'White Metal' which were used by the 3rd. Infantry and in profusion by South African Cadets is much easier to find.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- This item is in very good condition.......the lugs are perfect.......and not been fiddled with!!!
Dudley Wall shows it off as a 'Tam O'Shanter' Badge......with a bit of Tartan to the Rear. With luck Carl might find a piece for a client who might like to have it this way.
It was worn from......at the earliest 1914.......and through to about 1920.
