The Standard "Goat-in-a-Porthole" Badge for General Use.
This Badge was made by the South African Mint and its 'Off-Shoots' between 1940 and 1945.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- The Metal was Brass but given a Black Coating for War Use. (Many are found that have been polished out). See Colin Owen No. 1457. It was in General use for the Union Defence Force for the War. This one is in near perfect condition.
