BRITISH, KING'S CROWN, CAP BADGE TO THE ROYAL ARMY PAY CORPS.
Historically a somewhat complex Corps in that they started out in 1870 as a Control Department for Regimental Paymasters. This led to The Army Pay Department in 1877. By 1920 per Order 146 a 'ROYAL' Title was confered on the Army Pay Department and the Army Pay Corps. By further Order 498 of that year they were amalgamated. This badge was introduced in 1929 and ran through until the new EIIR version came out in the mid 1950's. For those who did NOT do Latin at School the Motto FIDE ET FIDUCIA translates to "In Faith and Trust". In other words you will get paid!!!! However humble it is still a very nice badge.
