BRITISH CAP BADGE TO THE LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS.
This Regiment was formed as the 20th of Foot in 1688 and as Peyton's Regiment of Foot. In 1881 it was styled "The Lancashire Fusiliers". In 1968 it became the 4th Battalion of the 'Royal Regiment of Fusiliers' and was sadly disbanded the next year in 1969.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- A Regiment with a fine history. Note the Sphinx and EGYPT for the Campaign of 1801 and the Grenade "Fired Proper". Looking at the Copper Lugs to the rear I would say that this badge was of World War Two Vintage.
