A PAIR OF MINT AND UNUSED TO THE PHYSICAL TRAINING BRIGADE.
E-mail
There was a run of this type of badge which was made in Pretoria at the Mint in 1940/41. Being the Mint, they were made in Copper and just about all of this badge that one comes across have been polished out. They were coated in this rather dull black finish. "Quartermaster's Comment":- Interesting to note how the two collars ARE a pair. For economy the Right Collar was the same as the left....even if he was facing to the right!!! I had quite a time finding a pair which had NOT been polished out for my own collection.
