BRITISH PLASTIC VERSION FOR WW2 OF THE FIRST BADGE TO THE R.E.M. We notice that there is an MMMC? stamped on the back of this badge. Is that the makers initials? This badge would have come out in around 1942 when the R.E.M.E. came into being.
"Quartermaster's Comment":- Good people to have around when things went wrong with the motor!! A few were attached to larger units as Light Aid Detachments. For some reason these WW2 Plastic/Economy badges are becoming quite collectable. Probably because so many did not survive and got thrown away. More importantly the brass fold over attachments to the rear broke off. With this one they are intact, see the photo.
